"Assisted living beds are in demand in Haines, especially for those who live in the Haines Borough or have friends and family they wish to bring to Haines that are currently in assisted living homes outside the area. There was substantial interest in having an assisted living home located in Haines, both for current and future occupancy. Based on the current and projected population figures, the demand for this type of housing in Haines will continue to increase.

It is recommended the developers follow their planned course of starting with 12 beds and expanding as the needs arise."
